Yaakov Alperon, born in Israel to Jewish immigrants from Egypt, grew up in Givat Shmuel. He and his brothers, who learned boxing, began taking over small businesses and established protection rackets across the Gush Dan region. Alperon was jailed in 1993 for 4.5 years for extortion, with his brothers Nissim and Zalman also convicted.
Alperon’s had great rivals. Their conflicts often revolved around bottle recycling, a racket generating millions. In 2004, Israeli police arrested hitmen linked to failed attempts on Alperon’s life. In 2006, a violent confrontation with rival Amir Mulner led to Alperon and his son going into hiding before surrendering.
Shortly after this incident, facing charges, the family decided to flee Israel. The family fled to the US, seeking to start anew while expanding their criminal empire internationally. Now, in Los Santos, the Alperon family is determined to rebuild and assert their dominance in the criminal underworld.
