Creating a good in-depth character

Hi, I’m new to the server and I think its one of the best roleplay servers as to date. I wanted to ask the more experienced community on creating a good story line for my character. I think its far crucial than playing itself as it could determine how I roleplay with others.
Right now I’m thinking of going through the entrepreneurial route but I fear this would result in low roleplay opportunities. Does anyone know of or have a guide on how to create a good storyline for a chracter?

You could try joining some criminal group honestly, perhaps some mafia. And also run some racketeering business as a front to roleplay money laundering

I personally like mafia type roleplay since its easier than learning gang slangs etc, then you just have to be creative with it
